Kitchen renovations in Niagara Falls and across Niagara

Orestorations renovates kitchens in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, and the rest of Niagara Region. Our crew supplies and installs the cabinets and does the finish carpentry, from islands and shelving to trim. Licensed trades do the electrical and plumbing. You contact us, we come to see the kitchen, and you get a free quote.

Cabinets supplied and installed by our crew

Our crew supplies the cabinets and installs them, so the same people who measure the room also hang the uppers, set the lowers, and build the island.

We look at the walls, floor, and layout during the site visit. Older kitchens can have walls out of plumb or uneven floors. Seeing the room first lets us plan the cabinet install around what is really there.

Finish carpentry that ties the kitchen together

After the cabinets go in, the crew finishes the room:

  • Kitchen islands
  • Floating shelves and open shelving
  • Trim and finished wall surfaces
  • Backsplash tile
  • Drywall and surface preparation before the cabinets go in

Kitchen renovations in Niagara Falls: two projects

The first kitchen has the fullest photo record on our site. The photos follow the room from new drywall and cabinet framing through the island build, countertops, backsplash tile, and a floating shelf. If you want to see what happens between demolition and the finished kitchen, start with this project.

The second is a two-tone kitchen with white upper cabinets, wood-tone lower cabinets, white countertops, a tile backsplash, and stainless appliances.

Both projects are linked above with their full photo sets.

Refresh the kitchen or change the layout?

Most kitchen plans fall into one of two groups. A refresh keeps the sink, range, and fridge where they are and replaces the cabinets, backsplash, and trim around them. A layout change moves the sink, the range, or a wall.

The difference matters for permits and for trades. The City of Niagara Falls lists minor cabinetry work among projects that do not need a building permit, and Thorold lists kitchen cupboards without plumbing. St. Catharines lists adding or removing walls and installing or altering plumbing as permit work. Moving a sink or adding circuits also brings in plumbing or electrical work.

Each municipality in Niagara sets its own rules, so check with yours before work starts. Our Niagara renovation permit guide, linked on this page, covers the kitchen examples and where to ask.

Electrical and plumbing: licensed trades do that work

Our crew does not do electrical or plumbing work. Licensed trades do it. New outlets, under-cabinet lights, a moved sink, a dishwasher hookup, or a gas line all fall into that group.

The Electrical Safety Authority says almost all electrical work in an Ontario home has to be reported, and anyone hired to do it must be a Licensed Electrical Contractor. Tell us at the site visit what electrical or plumbing changes you have in mind. Your quote will then show clearly what our crew covers and which parts need a licensed trade.

What to think about before the site visit

You get more out of the visit if you have a few answers ready. None of them need to be final.

If your kitchen plans are still loose, we can talk through these at the visit. Knowing them ahead of time helps us plan the cabinets and island around how your household uses the room.

  • Which appliances stay, and which ones you plan to replace
  • Whether the sink and range stay in place or move
  • How much storage you need, and where you run short today
  • Whether you want an island, and if people will sit at it
  • Cabinet colours or styles you like, even from photos online

How a kitchen quote works

Three steps: you contact us, we visit the property to see the kitchen, and we prepare a quote for the work we discussed. Bring your cabinet ideas, photos you like, and a rough sense of what you want to keep. We price the job after seeing the room, not from a photo.
